Kendra's Pajama Party

My little girl is 10 years old! Yes, a DECADE! I can't believe how fast she has grown. We are so proud of her! She is such a fun girl to be around. She is constantly teasing us, mostly on how we look! Trina and her dad like to get each other going with name calling. My favorite is "Special Ed!" She teases him about how he had to go to special classes! They have a very close relationship. When Kendra is upset her dad is the only one who can calm her. If she needs help with homework only dad can help. She fails to realize that her mother has way more formal education! Who's keeping track anyways! ;) Kendra is very artistic and loves to express herself through drawing and dance choreography. She is always making new routines for her sisters. She ensures that every kick is high enough, splits are low enough, and that every move is on beat. Watch out if you're not!

Kendra wanted to have a pajama party! She invited Chasity, Brieza, Savahanna, Mckyla, and Lexi to the house for a night of fun, crafts, food, games, and of course dancing! We had a basket waiting for each girl filled with a pair of pink fluffy slippers, flashlight, toothbrush and paste, brush, hair accessories, and girly goodies! We kicked off the party with a tie blanket craft. Each girl was given a yard of fleece and a pair of scissors. They had so much fun making their tie blankies!

Kendra and her friend Lexi have been BFF's since preschool!

I set out my favorite, antique pink glass, dishes around the house filled with candy to munch. I even made hot pink ice cubes for the fizzy cocktails! On the dinner menu was pizza pillows (pizza rolls), a bed of lettuce (caesar salad), and fruit and veggies!

The girls were all quite easily impressed with the birthday cake I made for Kendra! They were oohing and awwhing over every detail. I got the idea online and thought it would be a big hit. To make: Bake 2 layer 9x13 sheet cake. Frost 1/3 white (to look like sheet) Frost other 2/3 pink ( to look like blanket.) Pipe frosing around bottom ( bed skirt), and at top of blanket. Use snack cakes for pillows. Make heads using nilla wafers. Pipe icing for eyes, mouth, nose, and hair. For the finishing touch I stole a kitty from Barbie to lay at the foot of the bed. Viola, Girls in a Bed!

The girls had a blast playing games! In this picture they are playing "sleeping beauty." To play: One girl lays on the floor and has to close her eyes and not make a sound. All the others girls try to get her to laugh by saying funny things to her. I was laughing so hard at the things they came up with! "Did you go to Build a Bra to get that pink sparkly bra you are wearing?"
They played "what's glowing?" I bought several glow in the dark stars from the dollar store and hid them while the girls weren't watching. When it was dark they raced to find them all. Girl with the most wins a prize! They also played mad libs and mall madness. I had covered my coffee table with butcher paper and gel pens for the girls to doodle on. It was covered! I rolled it up and saved it in Kendra's keepsake box.

After games and dancing the girls enjoyed a movie and popcorn! They were all wiped by the time their parents arrived at 11 p.m. As the parents arrived I set out juice boxes, donut holes, little bagels and small boxes of cereal to take for "breakfast!" We thanked each girl for coming and gave them a bag of cute homemade "Z" sugar cookies and wished them to catch all their ZZZ's at HOME!
