Just look at my beautiful eggplant and watermelon! I love gardening! Ok... so it did take all summer, lots of water, and a sacrifice of the firstlings to the prairie gods, but now we have blocked the holes and get to enjoy our fruits! My wonderful mother-in-law was admiring my garden the other day and asked in her most sincere sweet voice what I had planned on doing with the eggplant! I told her I was going to make her some eggplant parmagiana! I think she was scared because she usually stays for dinner but that night she left in a hurry!
Even though much of my tomatoes and squash fed the outdoors, I enjoyed all the time my kids and I spent together in our garden pulling weeds, watering (thanks King), planting, and harvesting. We would talk about when I was little and would help in the garden with my parents and someday they could do the same with their kids. The girls liked to think about all the things we could grow! I have finally worked out the kinks and am very excited to get started on my fall/winter garden!
